Constipation is the worst! To the rescue is our healthy friend, beets!
Beets are a powerful veggie that help support our liver and gallbladder, which in turn mean healthy bowel movements. If you are frequently constipated, that's a clue that something needs to be fixed. Normal frequency for bowel movements is between one and three a day. Eating steamed beets can be very beneficial due to their high betaine content which supports methylation. Bile needs healthy methylation to flow properly. When methylation is poor, bile becomes stuck and thus constipation and other issues. A great remedy is to steam and eat an entire beat or two, wait 24 hours and voila! Feeling much lighter!!
